The Outlook for an Ovulation Prediction Instrument
There is some evidence in my research supporting Dr. ___________'s belief in his product, and I believe there are opportunities for him to proceed with development on a smaller scale than proposed in his business plan, with funding through joint ventures and research grants. But sales of $100 million per year as projected in the business plan are fanciful. Sales of $3 million to $5 million by the end of year five might be attainable.

Demand for Fibre Optic Telco Terminals, 1990-1994
(Summary)1. Fiber terminals and multiplexers will account for almost all Bell companies' interoffice and loop feeder carrier plant expansion from 1991 on. Copper carrier spans in use will decline in the interoffice plant, and will drop as a percentage of the local loop and feeder plants.
2. By 1994 99% of interoffice spans will be digital, and fiber will account for 65% of interoffice spans. But only 20% of the offices will have fiber spans.

The Outlook for Changeable Message Signs for U.S. Highways (Summary)
1. There were 300-400 Changeable Message Signs (CMS) installed on U.S. highways in 1992, at a value of about $25 million, excluding structures and communications. The use of CMS will grow at a CAGR of 30%-40% over for the next five years, reaching 1,500-2,000 units installed in 1997, worth about $125 million, excluding structures and communications.
2. There is a population potential of 30,000 CMS for U.S. highways. About 20,000 amber LEDs with a luminosity of 2 candela are required for a typical CMS. At a value of 40 cents each, those LEDs would capture as much as 67% of the market for CMS
